PADS Shred Day shreds 8,400 kgs and raises $4,600
On Saturday, June 11 South Surrey Rotary Club’s Shred Day for PADS (Pacific Assistance Dogs Society) raised $4,600! This is the biggest ever raised!
Total amount shredded was a record for Urban Impact: 8,400kgs!
By 9:15am, well before Shred Day started at 10 am, there were about ten cars lined up at Ocean Park Safeway with their boxes ready for shredding!
The PADS Shred Day was so busy that after two hours, our Shred Truck was packed to capacity. Now this was a first!
There were 3 PADS puppies at the Shred Day until noon, then a changing of the guard, and 4 new pups arrived!
Also in attendance, MLA Gordon Hogg who came by to show his support of the South Surrey Rotary Club, PADS and the community. Gordon is a BC Liberal Member of the Legislative Assembly and has represented the riding of Surrey-White Rock since 1997.
Nicole will be attending South Surrey Rotary Club’s breakfast on June 15 where the Club will be presenting a big cheque to PADS. The funds raised on Saturday’s Shred Day go towards the purchase of a PADS puppy- one puppy costs $15,000.
