Shredding for a Good CausePosted: September 22nd, 2015
Each year, Urban Impact partners with Vancity to present a series of Community Shred Days. The Shred Days would not be such a resounding a success without the incredible support of Vancity’s members, local partners and businesses.
Community Shred Days are a great way for people to protect their identity and the environment. Urban Impat provide our onsite shred truck and a driver to shred documents right on the spot!
Participating Vancity branches invite members and the community to bring their sensitive documents for secure shredding and recycling. Shredding is by donation. The proceeds benefit Vancity’ community partners such as Coquitlam River Watershed Roundtable and Canadian Mental Health Association. Donations are always greatly appreciated!
Vancity’s Community Shred Days always have lots of fun things for the whole family such as composting workshops, outdoor yoga classes, interactive displays and kids activities! And, there’s also an array of food trucks on site serving delicious food.
Following the success of Vancity’s North Shore Branch Community recent Community Shred Day, we were thrilled to receive a really nice thank you from Account Manager Samantha Beaulieu:
“We wanted to say THANK YOU so much for all your help in making this year’s event so successful! Without all of you this would not have been possible. We received so much positive feedback letting us know that it is such a great service we provide and it really brings the community together.”
It’s thanks this that really make our day! We are so excited that Vancity’s North Shore’s Community Shred Day packed out our shred truck! This year, we shredded a whopping 4590 kgs of paper! A huge increase from last year’s 1840 kgs! We love seeing the amount shredded increase year over year! While the funds are still being tallied, there’s little doubt the event was a huge success.
Urban Impact is proud to partner with a number of organizations to help them to host Community Shred Days! The Shred Days events are led and organized by the Financial Institution or Not-for-Profit organization. For more information about Community Shred Days:
