The Urban Impact Hiring Process -
making a true match
Our process is designed to help identify how well your needs, skills and qualifications align with Urban Impact. We work hard to ensure that this hiring process is fully transparent – from the moment you begin your search to your first day on the job. The process can take a few weeks to complete, and can help identify diverse opportunities that could allow you to grow within our company.
Getting Started: Resume and application submission

Once you’ve found and reviewed the positions currently available, it’s time to start applying. (Please note, if you are applying for a Driving position, you are required to submit a current Driver’s Abstract)
Once we’ve received your resume, we’ll send you a confirmation.
After you submit your resume, we will review it to create a candidate shortlist for the position posted. If you meet the qualifications, our human resources team will review your application and contact you to schedule an interview. (Due to the volume of applications, we contact only those applicants who closely align with our job requirements)
Setting up an interview
If you have been selected, you will be contacted by phone or email to set up an initial interview. We will speak with you to learn more about your qualifications, career interests and see if you are a cultural fit. In the case of a successful first interview by phone, applicants will then be invited to participate in a more in-depth face-to-face interview.
We will conduct an in-person interview. We will assess your fit with the position, and you can find out more about the Urban Impact culture, work environment and benefits.
Background and reference checks
All employees are subject to background and reference checks, including proof of eligibility to work in Canada.
After a thorough review of all items and your interview, we will extend an offer.
Your first few days at Urban Impact will include a safety orientation, plant tours, payroll set-up and staff introductions. Then you will embark on your training.
