We’re always looking for qualified people to join our team. All our jobs are posted online and you’re encouraged to apply for any job that interests you and matches your experience and education.

We work hard to ensure that our hiring process is fully transparent.  From the moment you begin your search, applying for a position and then preparing for an interview. This page will help you know what to expect as you pursue an opportunity with us.

Our simple, straightforward recruitment process is designed to help identify whether there’s a true match between our company your skills/qualifications and goals. The process can take a few weeks to complete.  We offer many diverse opportunities that allow you to grow within our company.

Urban Impact’s Hiring Process

Our application process is streamlined and we get in touch with candidates as quickly as possible.

1. Getting Started: Resume and application submission

Now that you’ve found open positions; it’s time to start applying. After reviewing the positions currently available, please upload your resume here.

Please note, if you are applying for a Driving position, you are required to submit a current Driver’s Abstract.

Once we’ve received your resume, we’ll send you a confirmation.

2.  Evaluation

After you submit a resume, we will review it to create a candidate shortlist for the position posted. Our Human Resources team will review your application and contact you to schedule an interview if you meet the qualifications. Due to the volume of applications, we contact only those applicants who closely align with our job requirements.

3. Setting up an interview

If you have been selected, you will be contacted by phone or email to set up an initial interview.  Depending on the position, you may be asked to have a telephone interview with us. We will speak with you to learn more about your qualifications and your career interests. In the case of a first interview by phone, successful applicants will then be invited to participate in face-to-face interview.

4.  Face-to-face interview

We will conduct a face-to-face interview. We will assess your fit with the position, our team,  and culture.  We will also try and provide you a clear understanding of the current and future opportunity in our organization. You will also have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about Urban Impact, benefits and the position  If you have other questions about Urban Impact we would be happy to answer them, so that you can understand the type of company we are and the type of work environment to expect.

5. Background and reference checks

All employees are subject to a background and reference checks. Depending on the position you are pursuing, steps may include:

  1. Driver screening (driver’s abstract review)

  2. Criminal record check,

  3. Education and employment history verification

  4. Skills (e.g., driving, customer service), and behavioural assessments

  5. Reference checks

  6. Proof of eligibility to work in Canada

6. Job Offer

After a thorough review of all items and your interview, we will extend an offer to the most qualified individual.

7.  Onboarding

Your first few days at Urban Impact will include a Safety Orientation, Plant Tours, Payroll Set up and Staff Introductions. In all cases, your first few weeks with Urban Impact will be training with our existing Drivers and also our Driver Trainers.
