The Millwright/Equipment position provides ever changing opportunities to work with unique modern recycling equipment which includes high tech electronic sorting and monitoring systems and custom built conveyor designs. You will be able to collaborate with like-minded individual to help design and execute internal maintenance programs. You will specialize in assisting with critical upgrade projects and ensure daily operations are problem free and highly efficient. You will also work towards developing important leadership skills and will be constantly encouraged to accept available training and education opportunities.
A candidate for this position may be a Millwright or Commercial/Heavy Equipment Mechanic with some years of troubleshooting, repair and maintenance experience. Additional certifications are considered an asset and applicants with experience in the Recycling industry will be given priority.
Responsibilities and Duties
You will work with other positions in order to improve facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes. This position will require implementation of safety inspections and hazard analysis while maintaining compliance with safety policies and regulations. You will pride yourself in maintaining a safe, tidy and efficient workspace as general practice.
You will be required to perform Preventative Maintenance Programs and immediate repairs and fabrication projects on Plant Systems or Rolling Equipment. You must be confident and reliable while working unsupervised and should know how to prioritize responsibilities. You will be required to complete daily documentation including logs, work orders and inventory management procedures. You must be available for on-call shifts, including weekends and occasional holidays.
Qualifications and Skills
- Year 2 Apprentice or greater Millwright (Red Seal Certification an asset)Minimum 4 years in Commercial Vehicle or Heavy Equipment repairs and strong maintenance background.
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to multi task
- Positive attitude with a customer service focus
- Proactively safety conscious
- Technicians will require their own basic tools for this position.
- Valid BCDL and reliable personal vehicle.
- Must provide an acceptable Driver’s Abstract.
