Steveston Dragon Boat Fest

Steveson Village and the waters of the Fraser River will come alive with the 4th Annual Steveston Dragon Boat Festival on August 24, 2013. And, we could not be more excited to be on hand helping the Festival GO GREEN! FarmFolk City Folk Feast of Fields

Urban Impact is very excited to partner with FarmFolk CityFolk to help the Metro Vancouver Feast of Fields event move towards achieving Zero Waste. Our Zero Waste Stations will be at the event to help guests recycle.

Nicole Stefenelli Featured in Entrepreneurship Magazine PIVOT

It all started in 1989 when Nicole Stefenelli returned from a trip to Europe. “It was a major turning point for me,” she recalls, “seeing how many light years ahead those countries were in terms of recycling.”

One year later, Urban Impact was born as a university project aimed at proving that commercial businesses could reduce their waste disposal costs and carbon footprint by recycling.
The beginning – Nicole started Urban Impact in 1990 as a commercial recycling company with the belief that she could make a difference as social entrepreneur.

 

It has been a few months since our last update on the PPP situation in BC, and therefore high time we got everyone back up to speed! 

A few days following our last post in November, MMBC submitted an official stewardship plan to the BC Ministry of Environment. This was followed by submission of a slightly revised plan on February 25, 2013, which included clarification of some plan aspects, as well as full reproduction of additional stakeholder feedback.
