People are at the centre of our company, which means their safety is our priority. As founder of Urban Impact, safety is always at the forefront of everything we do, from recurring training to weekly meetings, and safety reminders throughout our facilities and on our trucks.
2026 Safety Goal
As Founder and CEO, I have set a goal for our company and I’m proud to share that Urban Impact is working toward COR (Certificate of Recognition) certification through the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of British Columbia.
Rigorous Requirements
COR is a nationally recognized safety program that celebrates organizations with strong health and safety systems. It's not just a piece a paper, it's an earned acknowledgement and proof that our training, policies, and culture meet rigorous provincial standards and reflect our long-standing commitment to caring for one another.
Achieving COR certification shows that safety is more than a requirement. It reflects our dedication to going beyond compliance to create a workplace where everyone is supported and systems are in place to protect the safety and well-being of our people.
Consistent and Persistent
Achieving this goal is a lengthy process. As we start the New Year, we are beginning our year-long journey. Our teams have started preparing for an external audit that is scheduled for the end of 2026.
Auditors will review aspect of Urban Impact - Everything from policies and inspections to employee engagement and leadership involvement. To pass, Urban Impact must score at least 80 percent overall and a minimum of 50 percent in each audit category.
Challenges and Strength
Getting ready for the COR will be a challenging process, and one that will strengthen us. Everyone across the company plays an important role in contributing to our safety culture. Together, we are building systems that make us stronger, more resilient, and more accountable.
COR certification is about raising the bar and continuing to improve. It reminds us that safety is not a finish line but a daily commitment to our staff, our partners, and to our community.
We’ll continue sharing our progress as we move toward our 2026 audit. Achieving COR will be a proud milestone for Urban Impact, one that reflects our values of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
