Community Outreach

Community outreach is deeply woven into our company culture—it reflects not only who we are today, but the kind of organization we continually strive to be.

As a locally owned and proudly Canadian company serving the Greater Vancouver area for more than 35 years, Urban Impact is committed to environmental responsibility and to caring for the communities we serve.

Our outreach efforts take many forms, from Community Shredding Events, High School Educational Program and Plant Tours, Project Re Bounce and Recycling Charity Program and donating funds to charities in our community. Each of these programs demonstrates our belief that giving back is essential.

By engaging with local residents, supporting youth education, and partnering with community organizations, we work to build a cleaner, more connected, and more sustainable future for everyone.

Shredding Events

Urban Impact’s Community Shredding Events are a cornerstone of the company’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.

These events provide residents with a safe, secure, and convenient way to destroy sensitive documents—such as financial records, personal statements, and private paperwork—while simultaneously raising funds for local charities.

Indigenous Engagement Initiatives

The Indigenous Engagement Initiatives program emphasizes relationship building with local First Nations through respectful engagement, cross cultural learning, and employment pathways.

By offering knowledge transfer workshops, internal cultural training, and active participation in reconciliation efforts, Urban Impact positions itself not just as a service provider but as a community partner committed to long term, meaningful collaboration.

Waste & Recycling Educational Program

This commitment extends to youth education and environmental stewardship through the Waste & Recycling Educational Program, which provides fully funded classroom learning and facility tours for high school students.

The program empowers young people to understand regional waste systems, recycling processes, and climate related impacts, strengthening community awareness and inspiring future environmental leaders

Project Re Bounce

Project Re Bounce showcases Urban Impact’s ability to mobilize community participation in circular economy initiatives by diverting end of life sports equipment from landfills and supporting reuse efforts across British Columbia.

Through partnerships with sports clubs, charities, and local organizations, the program raises awareness, reduces waste, and fosters community engagement in sustainability practices.

Charitable Giving

Giving back is an integral part of the Urban Impact’s identity. This is reflected in programs and partnerships that support environmental education, community services, and local nonprofit organizations.

Urban Impact has a long‑standing and meaningful commitment to strengthening local communities through a diverse range of charitable initiatives.

By uniting environmental stewardship with purposeful community investment, Urban Impact helps foster stronger, more resilient, and more sustainable communities across the region.
