Broad in its scope, the concept of Zero Waste spans product design, consumption habits, life cycles, and production systems change. The goal is to eliminate waste entirely through systemic redesign of how products are made, consumed and retired after their useful life.
In the context of waste management, companies often state their goals as: Zero Waste. This is different in that having a Zero Waste goal. The goal of waste management companies is to divert all waste created at customer’s facilities thereby achieving Zero Waste to landfills.
