

Are you a Red Seal Commercial Transport or Heavy Duty Mechanic with knowledge of hydraulic systems?
This is a hands-on position that reports to the maintenance manager and is responsible for diagnosing and repairing facility equipment in a safe and timely manner.
The Shop Foreman will be required to be on the tools for 90% or more of the day. This is a highly skilled position that primarily involves preventative maintenance and repair of a large fleet of commercial transport vehicles, including trucks, trailers, forklifts, loaders, and light-duty trucks.
With direction provided by the maintenance manager, the Shop Foreman will help lead the day-to-day operation of our fleet preventative maintenance program. You will oversee a team of apprentices and mechanics, preventative maintenance, repair quality, and safety daily.






You are comfortable with prioritization, planning, coordination, and organization, with an ability to respond and adapt in changing, high pressure environments. You have the ability to assess problem situations, recognize issues, and use judgment to create solutions that meet required standards.
- Registered Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic.
- 5 years of progressive experience leading the day-to-day operation of a fleet preventative maintenance program.
- Three years of experience in leading a team of apprentices and mechanics, preventative maintenance, repair quality, and safety daily.
- Preference given to LPG and Diesel units; familiar with hydraulic systems, electronic control.
- Cummins Certification.
- CVI Certification.
- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
- The ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
- Cummins certified.
- CVI Certification.
- MX Certification is preferred.

- Strong preventative and diagnostic maintenance experience.
- Physical requirements of this position include the ability to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally must work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Valid Class 5 License, with Air Endorsement, and clean driver's abstract.

Reporting to to the Maintenance Manager, you will:
- Lead and run the shop, manage employee scheduling, and assign work.
- Manage inventory control system to ensure necessary equipment and part levels are maintained and purchases are within budget.
- Obtain quotes & process all vendor repair orders, purchase orders, and invoices; identify solutions, investigate disputes, and process corrections.
- Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment.
- Maintain and repair heavy diesel, CNG, gas and electrically operated equipment and vehicles. (CNG training provided).
- Experience with engine drive, train structure, welding, hydraulics & electrical malfunctions.
- Experience with diagnostics for large equipment.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Perform specialty builds & engine build.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, fabricate and rebuild parts as necessary.
- Identify and troubleshoot problems with engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other components of heavy-duty equipment.
- Utilize diagnostic tools (ET) and technical manuals to pinpoint issues and develop effective repair solutions.
- Perform routine inspections and replace worn or damaged parts to prevent equipment failures and increase longevity (fleet of 10 forklifts and 4 Wheel Loaders).
- Perform all work in accordance with safe work practices and procedures, participate in safety inspections, audits and hazard analysis and follow and comply with all safety policies and regulations.
- Install new equipment and overhaul or modify current equipment as required.
- Assist Maintenance Manager in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts used, repairs made, and hours worked.
- Provide detailed reports on the condition of equipment, maintenance performed, and recommendations for future actions.
- Complete daily Technician reports.
- Generate and improve of job plans, tasks, routes and maintenance standards.
