JOIN OUR TRUCKING MAINTENANCE TEAM
Urban Impact is seeking a Red Seal Commercial Transport Heavy Duty Mechanic with knowledge of Hydraulic Systems.
Reporting to the maintenance manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of preventative maintenance and repair including inspecting, servicing and repairing our fleet of equipment (trucks, trailers, forklifts and light- duty trucks).

Job Qualifications
You will determine the causes of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic defects on our equipment and perform the repairs. You will also conduct inspections and maintenance on our equipment in compliance with our preventive maintenance program. Experience working on forklifts and loaders and welding training is an asset.
Qualifications
- Certified Red Seal Truck & Transport Mechanic, preferred.
- Experience working on forklifts; preference given to LPG and diesel units; familiar with hydraulic systems, electronic controls.
- Critical thinking, job task planning and organization skills.
- Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and instructions.
- Responsive when given direct tasks, and efficient when working alone.

- Strong Preventative maintenance experience.
- Physical requirements of this position include the ability to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally must work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Valid Class 5 License and clean drivers abstract.
Job Responsibilities
This role reports to the maintenance manager.
You will :
- Work to repair and maintained the company fleet of equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, fabricate and rebuild parts as necessary.
- Ensure internal maintenance documentation is fully and accurately completed within the prescribed time lines and all applicable daily paperwork is completed.
- Have a solid understanding and expectation to meet job times as assigned in collective fleet.
- Identify and troubleshoot problems with engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other components of heavy-duty equipment.
- Utilize diagnostic tools (ET) and technical manuals to pinpoint issues and develop effective repair solutions.
- Perform routine inspections and replace worn or damaged parts to prevent equipment failures and increase longevity (fleet of 10 forklifts and 4 wheel loaders).
- Perform all work in accordance with safe work practices and procedures, participate in safety inspections, audits and hazard analysis and ollow and comply with all safety policies and regulations.
- Install new equipment and overhaul or modify current equipment as required.
- Assist our maintenance manager in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts used, repairs made, and hours worked.
- Provide detailed reports on the condition of equipment, maintenance performed, and recommendations for future actions.
- Complete daily technician reports.
- Generate and improve of job plans, tasks, routes and maintenance standards.
