Job Qualifications
- Red Seal Truck & Transport Mechanic Certification.
- Experience on forklifts; preference given to LPG and diesel units.
- 3 to 4 years experience as an apprentice.
- Familiar with hydraulic systems, electronic controls.
- Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and instructions.
- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
- The ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
- Cummins certified.
- CVI Certification.
- Physical requirements of this position include the ability to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds.
- Work well with others in a team environment.
- Valid Class 5 License and clean drivers abstract.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to to the Maintenance Manager, you will:
- Performing repairs and preventative maintenance of company fleet equipment, including working with hydraulics, airbrakes, transmissions, and heavy-duty diesel engines on fleet vehicles.
- Ensuring internal maintenance documentation is fully and accurately completed.
- Utilizing diagnostic tools (ET) and technical manuals to pinpoint issues and develop effective repair solutions.
- Performing routine inspections and replace worn or damaged parts to prevent equipment failures and increase longevity.
- Performing all work in accordance with safe work practices and procedures; participate in safety inspections, audits, and hazard analysis; and follow and comply with all safety policies and regulations.
- Installing new equipment and overhauling or modifying current equipment as required.
- Assisting Maintenance Manager in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, (parts used, repairs made, and hours worked).
- Providing detailed reports on the condition of equipment, maintenance performed, and recommendations for future actions.
- Complete daily technician reports.
