Did you know when you purchase a beverage container, in British Columbia, the beverage container product category is charged a variable fee that covers the net cost of recycling that container?  You will see this charge on your invoice at the grocery store, or when a supplier delivers beverage containers to you.

By returning beverage containers, through the Urban Impact Beverage Container Recycling Program (BCR) program, you can earn cash back! 

The Urban Impact Beverage Container Recycling Program (BCR)  offers commercial, residential and hospitality customers a recycle and a redeem program for most beverage containers. 

How to Become a BCR Program Member

For a limited time, Urban Impact is accepting additional services from our existing customers, existing companies, organizations, and residential customers, who would like to start or expand their recycling services. When you join, you will receive discounts on your recycling beverage container pick-up service.

How It Works

  • Be an existing customer.  New customers are also eligible with purchase of additional service. 
  • Request, from your account manager, to add the Urban Impact Beverage Container Recycling service to your account. 
  • Urban Impact will set up your service and supply you with the proper collection bins, information for your team.
  • Urban Impact will pick up your sorted bin and count the containers. The value of the containers, minus the discounted cost of service, will be refunded to you.
  • Follow the Do and Don’ts requirements to ensure you get the most refund possible.

Dos and Don’ts - Please Read Carefully

  • Do: Sort beverage containers into their proper bins. 
    • Non-deposit baring containers can be put in the same bin to be recycled but will decrease the value of each tote.
    • In addition, Urban Impact will charge for the non-deposit baring containers and reserves the right to refuse any bin.
  • Do: All glass beverage and other containers can be put into the same bin. 
  • Do: All metal, aluminum and plastic beverage containers into the same bin.info@urbanimpact.com
  • Do NOT: Do not break bottles or put broken bottles into the container. Broken bottles should be put into the garbage container.   
    • It’s not possible to count broken bottles.
    • Broken bottles makes bins unnecessarily heavy.
    • Broken bottles or glass containers has potential to hurt people.
