Mother's Day is a time to celebrate and honor the incredible women in our lives who have played such an important role in shaping who we are. For many of us, our Mothers are the ones who have taught us the value of hard work, compassion, and perseverance.

Working Moms have a unique role in our society and in our hearts.  We have many working Moms at Urban Impact, who juggle their responsibilities of parenting and pursuing a career, contributing to both their families and the workplace.  Despite the many challenges of balancing work and life, working moms continue to prove that they can succeed and thrive in both realms. Their contributions are invaluable, especially @UIRecycling.

Working Moms also serve as powerful role models for young girls, inspiring them to pursue their passions and break through the glass ceiling.  The concept of "glass ceiling" certainly feels a bit cliched, but working Moms today are continuing to break many barriers for the future generation of women in the work force. 

The waste and recycling industry historically has been male dominated. Although Urban Impact does not yet have an equal representation of gender in the workplace, we are certainly making some progress. As of April 2023, our workforce is comprised of 18% females. Led by a women, Urban Impact continues to make every effort to ensure our workplace embraces gender and cultural differences building a resilient workplace for all. 

On Mother’s Day, we take a moment to honour our working Moms and thank them for their contributions to home and work.
