For the third year, Truth and Reconciliation Day will be recognized on September 30, 2023. On this day, we honor the children who were lost to the residential school system, as well as the survivors and the families of those affected.
Truth and Reconciliation Day focuses on bringing awareness, respect, and appreciation for our Indigenous peoples. For generations they have thrived and continue to do so despite the disadvantages they have endured. On this day, we take pause to learn about the colonial legacy of our country and the traditions of our Indigenous cultures.
Urban Impact acknowledges the importance of accepting and blending cultures in our country. Bringing our attention to this day solidifies our resolve to create a better future and help build prosperity and mutual respect for humans. We encourage all Canadians to take this day to put bias aside, listen, learn, and acknowledge the misdeeds of our government and the generational affect their actions have had.
