On February 12/13, the Urban Impact team was on hand at the City of Richmond’s Winterfest Weekend at the Richmond Oval to help the festival go green.
With thousands of visitors over the two-day festival, Urban Impact supplied our new custom design ‘Zero Waste Stations’ that assisted festival guests with recycling: Paper, Mixed Containers (bottles, recyclable plastic containers) and Compost materials.
The City of Richmond also supplied over 75 high school student “Green Ambassador” volunteers. Two students managed each Zero Waste Station while also educating and assisting each guest with making conscious decisions about how to recycle their waste.
The event showcased the new Richmond Oval community centre and its world-class facilities that include two Olympic size skating rinks, basketball courts, a state of the art gym and more!
Urban Impact is committed to providing the City of Richmond with information relating to how much waste was diverted from the landfills by utilizing our Zero Waste stations. We are currently weighing and taking photos of the diverted materials and we are excited to provide a report to the City to share the information!
