Urban Impact could not be more excited to help the Festival Go Green. World-class dragon boat races make the Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival, Vancouver’s most anticipated and prestigious summer event.
Urban Impact Recycling is excited to be partnering with the Festival to help the Festival Go Green. The Festival is our flagship event of the year- we can’t wait for the festivities!
The Festival welcomes about 100,000 people at the Olympic Village, June 19-22. Thanks to our team and the Festival’s volunteers, you won’t see much waste. You will see Urban Impact’s “zero waste stations”. Together we’ll be teaching, raising awareness and talking about recycling during the Festival.
Festivals and events are full of people, food, and collateral, and that means waste. We’ve invested in developing Zero Waste Stations that were designed to handle waste generated at events and festivals. We’re focused on creating positive outcomes at festivals and events by keeping recycling simple.
Urban Impact salutes the Canadian International Dragon Boat Society for their commitment to promoting sustainability, minimizing waste, reducing the Festival’s environmental impact and championing positive behaviour such as recycling.
Urban Impact has two really fun contests this year. Back by popular demand is our Draw Our Hybrid Truck Art Contest.
We also have a "Guess the Weight of our Recycling Tote" contest.
The winner of each of our contests at the Festival will win an Ipad Mini. So even if you can't draw, you still have a chance to guess the weight of the tote!
Drop by our booth right across from Creekside Community Centre- we will be talking about everything recycling!
The Festival features two full days of non-stop entertainment on the World Beat Stage, fabulous food, children’s activities, art installations, the Urban Tea Lounge, shopping, and of course, dragon boat racing of the highest caliber.
Admission is free to the general public. Plan to come down to the waters of False Creek and celebrate!
Located at the Creekside Community Centre, Village Plaza and the waters of False Creek, near Science World.
We can't wait to see you!
