Unlike short-lived print collateral, a company’s logo should be an enduring identifier that gains equity over the years. When Urban Impact rebranded in 2010, our goal was to create a durable, lasting identity that was contemporary and timeless and aligned with our customer’s needs and expectations.
On February 7, we had 30 children, teachers and parents from the School District 38 (Richmond) Waste Management School Green Team for a visit to our Richmond Plant. The tour of our five step recycling process was led by President and CEO Nicole Stefenelli. The group was very engaged; the children asked many questions about what happens during the recycling process; the children with the best questions received baseball caps and toques. Urban Impact has been front and centre at recent Packaging and Printed Paper EPR consultation sessions. The BC Ministry of Environment is currently in the middle of a Fall Consultation tour.
September 20, 2011 Norampac announced that its Burnaby Mill (recycling) is shutting down no later than December 2011.
This is a sad day, when a domestic mill has to shut down. The capacity of this mill was not huge at 128,000 Metric Tonnes of product output per year, but nonetheless it will change the dynamics of cardboard recycling in the Pacific Northwest.
