We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced full- time Junior Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Controller, in this hybrid role you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and conducting payroll and HR related duties. There are opportunities for advancement for the right candidate.

Rate: $55,000 to $65,000 per year
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in accounting
- 1+ years accounting experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of Adagio is ideal, but not required
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A proven ability to work within a high paced environment.

Job Responsibilities
Accounting Duties
- Performing monthly account reconciliation (subcontractor pricing, disposal invoices, etc.)
- Maintaining accurate and up to date month-end working papers.
- Assisting with the month-end closing process
- Cross-training and backup for other areas of the department (i.e. AP/AR).
- Other Ad Hoc duties as assigned
Payroll and Human Resource Related Duties
- Preparing and processing full cycle bi-weekly payroll with appropriate approvals.
- Maintaining and updating employee payroll files, including entering new hire information, salary and address changes, banking information, etc.
- Administering benefits and RRSP plan for employees including processing enrollments, terminations, changes and transfers of funds
- Answering payroll related inquiries.
- Generating regular operation payroll reports
- Assisting in updating job offers, job descriptions and issuing employment memos.
- Other Ad Hoc duties as assigned
